Roberto Cavalli.

MFW

Spring/Summer 2014

Set on a soundstage, the first look that appeared was full on silver and the rest of the collection followed suit with true Cavalli style. A key idea to take note of is the backless swoop on a number of dresses. A variety of fabrics used including knit and lace, as well as leather and chiffon. These contrasts in fabrics created a beautiful consistent collection. Garments had been inspired by a variety of sources and included Art Deco caftans and piano-shawl fringing. Everything seemed to float away from the body with punk style chains. The colour palette started off neutral, then faded into pink, blue and flashes of green. A series of black and white garments reminds me of last Spring/Summers monochrome trend.
